Severe withdrawal symptoms
The more severe withdrawal symptoms include a state of confusion and agitation, along with fever, convulsions and black outs. The person experiences visual hallucinations which are known as DTs or delirium tremens, which occur three to five days without alcohol. The person also experiences convulsions and seizures and if not medically treated, it can lead to disorientation, hyperactivity and extreme cardiovascular disturbances. It is said that no medical treatment can stop DTs once they begin and eventually leads to seizures, heart attack and stroke which can be fatal.
